For a big guy, he can get surprisingly playful.<br/><br/>He’s also very protective of his mom, which isn’t surprising considering everything they’ve been through together. We’re still figuring out whether the two are truly bonded or if what they share is more of a trauma bond after years of surviving side by side.<br/><br/>Solason is about twice the size of his mom, weighing roughly 90 pounds, but despite his size he’s a gentle giant.<br/><br/>He allows pets, loves food, and will even allow you to pick him up and carry him — which is equal parts adorable and slightly ridiculous considering how big he is.<br/><br/>He can be a little particular about food... but the things he loves, he LOVES.<br/><br/>Dogs who have spent years surviving instead of living often need extra time and patience to trust the world around them. Because of that, dogs like Solason can take longer to find the right home.<br/><br/>We couldn’t have brought Solason here without your continued support — it truly means the world to us.<br/><br/>For now, we’re celebrating the small wins and letting Solason move at his own pace.<br/><br/>One day he’ll realize he doesn’t have to be afraid anymore. Until then, we’ll meet him exactly where he is.<br/><br/>Stay tuned for updates on his progress.<br/><br/>Solason will require a fenced in yard at this time as well.<br/><br/>Our Pack Animal Rescue, Inc.
