Sol's Story

Meet Sol – A Bright Spirit Ready to Shine in Your Home

Sol is a 1.5-year-old, 38 lb bundle of love with a warm, radiant personality that truly reflects her name. She’s affectionate, gentle, and full of joy, bringing comfort and light to everyone she meets. Sol absolutely loves people and being around them, whether she’s relaxing by your side or soaking up attention. She loves giving kisses, and when you pet her, she simply closes her eyes and soaks in all the love. Her sweet and easygoing nature makes her a wonderful companion for many types of homes. We often call her an “easy dog” because she is happy, adaptable, and can go just about anywhere with you. She’s truly a great companion and a loyal friend.

Sol was found as a young puppy, around 6 months old, wandering alone—lost, scared, and unsure of where she belonged. One of the staff members at SOS el Arca Animal Rescue found her while walking into work. Despite clearly having been abandoned, Sol was incredibly friendly and relieved to see a kind face. It was obvious she wouldn’t survive long on the streets, so they brought her to safety without hesitation.

Since then, Sol has grown into a loving, trusting dog who hasn’t let her difficult start define her. Thanks to the care and compassion she received, she has blossomed into a healthy, happy girl who is ready for a fresh start and a forever home.

Sol is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm tested, dewormed, and on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. She is also crate trained and settles nicely, making her an easy addition to a home routine.

Sol has a friendly and adaptable nature. She does well with other dogs and enjoys their company. She can also coexist peacefully with cats and is gentle with kids. She would thrive in a home filled with love, as she is a confident and curious girl who is interested in everything around her—the world, people, and new experiences.

We would love to bring Sol to New York on our next transport on April 11th, but she can only make the journey with a committed adopter or a foster or foster-to-adopt home in place. After everything she’s been through, we want her next step to be one filled with stability, love, and security. Opening your home—even temporarily—can truly change her life.

If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who will brighten your days and love you unconditionally, Sol may be the perfect match. Please complete an adoption application and email it to sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com with any questions.

Sol is ready to be chosen, to be loved, and to finally belong. Will you be the one to give her the home she’s been waiting for?
