Sojourner

Sojourner in his “I’m enjoying my nap” phase. Sojourner was found as a stray who was found multiple times and kept escaping fences but each time would happily jump in anyone’s car. Eventually when no owner came forward he found his way here where we quickly neutered him and went into foster care. Sojourner is very ready for his forever home. He’s housetrained crate trained and leash trained though is a strong puller. He craves human connection and wants to be with you. He is vocal if doorbells strangers things that he needs to alert you to are around. Young maybe 1-2 energetic and about 22lbs of fluffy red Pom mix fur. No young children but respectful kids over 12 ok and loves other dogs. Doesn’t like being left alone. Ideal family would be young active either with a privacy fence or if no fence then a couple that has time for lots of enrichment and no apartment living. Sojourner came to us as a result of being a stray that kept showing up at different homes so thus why we gave him this name. He loves all people and animals and we were able to get him neutered right away so he’s is excellent on housebreaking now and crate and leash trained. A high escape proof fence would be great for him to get that playful energy out otherwise he’ll need a good handler as he does pull on leash and would have a propensity to be a runner but of course he loves people so much that he truly does become your shadow quickly. He’s a nice size at about 16lbs and 1-2 yrs old and might have some Pom and sheltie in him.
