Sofia - Courtesy post's Story

READ THE FOLLOWING FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION AND FOR A DESCRIPTION OF THIS PET:

Meet Sofia, or Fifi. This 4-year-old, tiny Chihuahua came from an abusive and neglectful situation where she was physically harmed, never allowed outside, and fed only human food. Because of that, she came into foster care extremely anxious, fearful, and unsure of the world around her.

Over the past few weeks, Fifi has slowly started learning what it means to feel safe. She has learned to enjoy leash walks, gets excited to run and play with the people she trusts, and has even started learning to go potty outside after spending most of her life using pee pads indoors. Her favorite treats are Greenies, but more than anything, she loves curling up under blankets beside her person.

Fifi is shy at first, but once she bonds with someone, she becomes incredibly attached. She wants to be close to her person constantly and finds a lot of comfort in having someone she trusts nearby.

With that said, Fifi will need a very specific home. Because of her past and insecurity, she struggles with resource guarding her person and does not do well sharing attention with other animals. For that reason, she needs to be the only pet in the home. She also should not be placed with children, as sudden movements and unfamiliar situations can make her anxious.

Fifi is going to need someone committed to helping her continue building confidence and stability. But underneath the fear is a sweet, affectionate little dog who truly wants to love and be loved. Watching her slowly learn how to relax, play, and trust has already been incredibly rewarding, and she deserves a home willing to give her the time and compassion she has never had before. She has come extremely far in a few short months!

Fifi is fully vetted including all core vaccines, spay, microchip, recent dental, and has been treated with flea/tick/hw preventative. Her adoption fee is $350.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS:

- The first step towards adoption is to complete an adoption application, which can be found online at our website www.roadtriprescues.com, under the ADOPT tab.

- Do not use the Petfinder links or email to ask us about our adoptable dog listings - we do not always receive these messages and will not respond to them.

- Please do not ask if a dog is still available - we do our best to update their status as quickly as possible. If a dog is listed for adoption, it means we have not yet approved an adopter and are still accepting applications.

- PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLY APPROVED ADOPTERS WILL BE PERMITTED TO MEET OUR RESCUES - WE ARE A FOSTER BASED RESCUE AND ALL OF OUR DOGS LIVE WITH US AS FAMILY.

Thanks for considering a rescue pup!

Road Trip Rescues Inc. - Bethlehem, PA
PA Kennel License #7186
