Snowball's Story

Snowball and heavily pregnant Snowflake were found running the streets of Kirby, Texas. No, not like the mafia, literally running, with their legs. Terrified at first, Snowball didn't know what safety felt like- but it didn't take long for her to blossom as she began to trust and for the sweetest little cuddle bugs gentle heart to shine through (please note: she's a canine, not an insect).

While still a little shy, Snowball adores people and lives for one-on-one human time. Once she trusts you she'll happily roll over for belly rubs and cuddle. Whilst cuddling, she wants all the love to herself- no pups allowed to interrupt her zen or steal her spotlight! While she plays with Snowflake and can peacefully coexist with other dogs, she's more of an independent girl and doesn't feel the need to play much with them.

Snowball is crate, leash and potty trained! She will also use potty pads if she can't make it outside. While she does well in her crate, wouldn't you rather be cuddling her? She would! Snowball walks nicely on a leash but isn't much of an adventurer—she prefers cozy vibes over the party life. She would thrive in a calm home where she can be someone's little shadow and soak up all the love she was missing out on.

Our best guess is that Snowball is perhaps a Maltese or Shih Tzu mix- but playing 'guess the breed,' for street dogs is really hard!

Snowball is currently living in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas, awaiting an adopter or open foster home in Colorado to bring her up and into their home.

***Snowball is being posted on behalf of our partner rescue in Texas- the process and adoption will go through them. The adoption fee does not include the transport fee (usually $125-200/dog).***

Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and from kill shelters in San Antonio.
