Snow Labrador Retriever Mix St Simons Island, GA

Snow is a 2 yo, 40lb, female (spayed), mix breed. NKGC pulled her from our local animal control on November 7th 2020. At the time we pulled her, Snow was completely broken. She had been on a strict "Bite Quarantine" for over a month, that is with no human interaction at all. We tried to uncover the details surrounding the incident without success. She spent her days at animal control curled up in a corner trembling in terror. We had a dog trainer/ behaviorist come and evaluate Snow and his evaluation was that she is terrified, depressed, and traumatized, but not aggressive.

Once we took Snow into our care she went to and has been with her loving foster home ever since. We wanted to give Snow a safe place to decompress and learn that humans are not bad. She is now completely vetted and ready for her forever home.

Her foster mom says, " she has done great with her other dogs and cats. She's fairly energetic and wants to play with the other pets of the house. She does not have much interest in toys. She loves treats and takes them very nicely. She loves getting to play in the back yard and then when she comes back in she loves to take a good nap. She will need a home with a secured fenced in yard. She is not an escape artist, she just loves to be outside and especially in the beginning when I had her she was checking for a place to get out, she doesnt do that anymore. Due to her trauma history and her background in general I think her ideal home would be an active home with another dog that she can play with, a home with no small children (under the age of 5). She does great with her foster moms nieces and nephews who are about 10 yrs old. Snow needs some one who has patience and will be willing to continue to help her gain confidence."
