Snoopy's Story

Hi! My name is Snoopy! I am a 3 year old Sheepdog mix. My foster family calls me a "love bug" and a "total sweetheart." I think people are amazing, and I am determined to soak up every second of love and attention I can get. I love receiving belly rubs, and following my favorite humans around the house. I am truly a gentle soul with a heart full of love. I am making up for lost time and need a home where I will be a central part of the family. I like to chew bones and to play and can be quite silly at times.

I like going on new adventures! I am pretty good on the leash and don't get startled by cars, bikes, or scooters, making me a great walking / hiking buddy! I can do 3 miles without breaking a sweat, but don't need daily walks as I have a normal energy level.

I am very smart and my foster mom can tell that I will be an easy dog to train. It's not my fault no one took the time to teach me things! I am doing great with house training and have almost mastered it! I am a sensitive soul, that doesn't like to get in trouble, I am eager to please! I will make a wonderful companion. I get along with every dog I have met so far of various sizes!

His adoption fee is $400.

If you are interested in adopting there is an application below: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PDAR/Dog

His YouTube video going on a walk:
https://youtube.com/shorts/aKaaBUcNXbA?si=5Ye0Dc-1k5DVYHlk

I am getting my coat back to its former glory. (I was very matted and emaciated when I came in) I love mealtime and I’m learning that food is plentiful now. Even though I have a short "puppy cut", my beautiful, fluffy, Sheepdog spirit shines through! As my beautiful coat grows back, I will need regular brushing to ensure I never feel the pain of matting again. I seem to love kids and have adored getting to know the kids in the foster home ages 10+.

Medical Note: During his intake exam, Snoopy tested Heartworm Positive. While this sounds daunting, the great news is that he has already begun his treatment! He is a brave boy and is handling everything like a champ.

To ensure Snoopy gets exactly what he needs, the rescue will cover the cost of his remaining heartworm treatment at one of our approved partner veterinarians.

Most of our dogs are rescued from high-intake shelters in Texas or straight off the streets in South Texas where there are packs of stray dogs running loose. Your fee covers the significant costs of bringing them to safety. Your adoption fee covers: spay/neuter (if old enough), transport fees getting the dogs from Texas to our fosters homes here (that ALONE is $200-$230 per dog), core vaccines, heartworm test (If old enough), deworming, and microchip.

We do not guarantee the breed of any of our dogs or how big they will be when they are fully grown. The breed listed is typically a guess based off of appearance or personality traits. We cannot guarantee that any dog is not mixed with pit. This is a standard part of adopting a dog from rescue.

We are a non-profit rescue. Any access revenue made is used to care for animals with additional medical expenditures that would otherwise result in adoptable dogs having to be left behind and euthanized.

Paws Deep Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
The first step to adoption, once you have identified a pet you would like to adopt, is to fill out an adoption application. You can speed up the adoption process by calling your vet ahead of time to give us permission to speak to them in regards to your current and past pets. You will be contacted to schedule an interview and a meet and greet after the adoption contract is approved.. We will need proof of age with a form of ID. Once we have gotten approval that you are allowed to have pets where you live, your adoption application is approved, the pet is altered, and adoption payment is received, only then will the animal be released. Some pets may be able to go home the day after adoption contract is approved others it could be a week. If the animal is deemed too young to be altered we will have the adopter sign a spay and neuter contract. The animal will need to be neutered when it is 6 months old and we will need proof provided to us by a licensed veterinarian. Once there is proof provided, the rescue will reimburse $100 of the adoption fee. If there is more than one qualifying approved applicant that is a match then the applicant who first inquired will get the opportunity to meet the pet and decide if they want to adopt before it goes to the next person in line. Note: Some animals will require home inspections or a fenced yard. Applying for a dog does not mean automatic approval. We reserve the right to deny applications. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_j7Qyk269a7uzMcOh1Ffx3PU9femw7Xd3t-Nj8TOfBE/edit Follow us on TikTok: @pawsdeepanimalrescue
