Snoopy's Story

Age: 5-7 years
Size: 25 lbs
Good with: adults & dogs.

Snoopy was tied up outside a vet’s office in Brooklyn like a piece of discarded furniture. Despite his original rescuer's best intentions, he was passed between several homes, never finding the security he needed or receiving proper diagnosis for his orthopedic issues. After 9 months of being moved around, we were contacted and immediately accepted him into our rescue program.

People tend to call Snoopy cute, but that’s the least interesting about him. He’s a friendly extrovert with a tastefully-curated toy collection and a firm stance on consent. In order for him to feel confident and safe, he needs to be the one to say "yes, please" to physical affection. He has mild arthritis and hip dysplasia, and while his symptoms are under control with medication, he is sensitive about his back end being touched.

Snoopy would prefer an adult-only home. He loves women but has conflicting feelings about men. Even with familiar men, he's prone to reflexive barking before recognition kicks in. Therefore, male household members must be 100% ok with this quirk. He's good with calm dogs if they can co-exist peacefully with him.

Snoopy is fostered in Brooklyn, NY and is available for local or out-of-state adoption as long as the adopter can travel to meet him.
