Snoop's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ADOPTION PENDINGSnoop is a friendly, joyful dog, and so lovable! When he arrived in Florida despite finding himself in a strange environment, he was immediately happy to greet his foster mom. He has been that way with all the people we have seen him meet. He does not jump up or get carried away; he's just eager to greet the new person and let them love on him. He very much enjoys being petted and his coat is like velvet, and he doesn't mind being snuggled in your lap either. Snoop has been very accepting of the other dogs in his foster home and the dogs that have visited. He shows signs of wanting to play but the senior dogs in his foster home were not interested. His interactions with the cats was a little questionable. With the older cat, Snoop minded his manners. However at first the the younger cat was a frequent temptation to chase and bark at. After a few days he seemed to be more laid back with both cats. House training is coming along but he’s not making straight As yet, and walking on the leash is still a learning opportunity. Snoop is currently fed in his crate and is a typical beagle about food. He would eat any other dog’s food if it was available, but he is not at all aggressive. He does enjoy his toys but seems to be drawn to chewing on cardboard boxes. He is content to hang out at home, but his true joy is running free at the dog park on in the back yard. He would thrive in a family with a lot of activity and room to run as his energy level is probably slightly above moderate. Snoop is heartworm positive and treatment is scheduled. He will be ready for a sleepover mid-May provided his family can observevthe post treatment requirements.
