My name is Snooker, and I'm a three-year-old Terrier mix weighing about 42 pounds. I was rescued from severe hoarding conditions at the ESLR shelter in Mexico, and now I'm ready to find the loving forever home I deserve.

I'm already neutered and in good health. While I do have a luxating patella, it doesn't cause me any pain, and I take a Rejensa joint supplement to help keep my joints healthy. I'm also working on shedding a few extra pounds and getting back to my ideal weight.

My foster family tells me that I'm a mellow, easygoing guy with a wonderfully relaxed personality. In fact, if there's a cozy couch nearby, that's probably where you'll find me! I love being part of the family and spending time with my people. While I enjoy treats, sometimes I'm simply too comfortable lounging around to be persuaded to get up.

When my family leaves the house, I'm happy hanging out in the backyard. I may bark or whine for a few minutes, but then I settle in with a chew toy, find a shady spot, and keep an eye on the neighborhood. I take my role as home security supervisor very seriously! I'll happily let you know when someone is passing by, but I'm all bark and no bite.

Some of my favorite things include chewing on my toys, going for walks, getting my back scratched, belly rubs (when I can be convinced to roll over!), and snuggling on the couch with my humans. I get along well with other dogs (i've been socializing at dog parks!) but would prefer a home without cats. While I haven't spent much time around children, my gentle nature suggests I would likely do best with older, respectful kids.

As far as training goes, my leash manners could use a little polishing since I tend to pull hard when I see bunnies or bushes I want to sniff. But, I'm a smart boy who would thrive with some consistent training and guidance. At home, I'm potty trained and enjoy having chew toys to keep me occupied. If left without something appropriate to chew on, I may decide your slippers or pillows look like fair game, so keeping a few toys around is always a good idea! I also have mild separation anxiety but typically settle down quickly after my family leaves.

Basically, I'm a total sweetheart with an affectionate personality that makes me impossible not to love. I'm the perfect size - not too big and not too small - and I have an energy level that's just right. I think I'd be a great fit in many different types of homes - just as long as I would be the center of attention and the solo pup in the home.

My adoption fee includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the adoption form.

Snooker's freedom ride was graciously sponsored by Kellie Bonk!

The Animal Pad's Adoption Policy
We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane. Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational. All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times. All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise. Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000. Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc. Adoption Application: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
