Snickers's Story

Meet snickers, This very special pup is looking for an equally special home. Snickers came to us originally with the belief that she was blind but after a look by our medical department it's been determined that she can see some things. Along with being blind it is believed that she suffered from a brain injury at birth. Because of the injury she can come across much more like a puppy then an adult dog.

But don't let that deter you, Snickers is one of the funniest sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. From the way she prances around the yard and runs to you like she's not seen you in years to shaking her toys so hard you start to question if her issues stem from some toy shaking damage. To even the way she will crawl up your body so you can give her a hug and she can give you some maybe not so gentle but VERY loving head bonks.

Snickers doesn't know that she's a little different, she's going to need a home that can be patient and consistent with her training and care. Here at the shelter she is learning that she doesn't need to use her mouth to explore the world, as dogs with her medical issues often do and learning different cues mean to go easy. Snickers would do best with a home without other pets, as she doesn't always pick up on what they are trying to tell her and she can come across as rude to other dogs. She would also do best in a home without young children due to her mouthyness.
