She's not only treat-motivated, but also thrives on praise—which is so easy to give, because she's truly a good girl.

She's completely potty trained and adapts well to both a house or apartment lifestyle. Sneakers already knows several commands: sit, lay down, off, wait, and—of course—“good girl.”

She's gentle with her toys and prefers stuffed animals over puzzle toys. Her favorite snacks are biscuits, bully sticks, and meat treats—though she's not a fan of peanut butter. She gets plenty of exercise with 2–3 walks a day (plus some running!) to help burn off energy.

Behavior & Socialization:

Sneakers is considered reactive, meaning she gets nervous around new people and may bark to try and keep them away. But in the short time I've had her, she's already shown amazing progress with consistent, positive exposure—especially in outdoor spaces like parks, where she can take things at her own pace.

She simply needs time and patience to build trust. Once she does, she bonds deeply.

‍ Bonds quickly with women
‍ Slower to trust men
Would do best in a home with older kids (she's a little jumpy and sensitive about her tail)
No cats due to prey drive (not officially tested)
Best as the only dog—she's shown nervous behavior around others

Her Ideal Home:

Sneakers needs a calm, structured home with patient humans who'll give her space and support as she decompresses. Once she feels safe, she is the sweetest soul. She loves:

Tummy rubs
Hand-holding (yes, really!)
Walks in the park
Sunbathing
Taking treats ever so gently

She's a total mama's girl, and I know she'll thrive in the right adoptive home—one that sees the loving, loyal dog she already is.

Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional's recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal's history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.

The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online forms here as well.

The Rescue Crew's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet through The Rescue Crew! Your desire to provide a loving forever home to a rescued animal helps us in our shared goal to “Save a Life Today.” We are a completely volunteer-run, foster-based rescue, which means all of our animals live in home environments—not kennels—while they await adoption. This allows us to learn as much as possible about each pet’s personality, preferences, and needs so we can help make the best possible match for both the animal and the adopter. Our adoption process may take a little time, and you might notice we ask a lot of questions. That’s because we want to ensure a lasting and happy match for everyone involved. There are no “right” or “wrong” answers—these questions simply help us guide you toward the pet who will fit best with your family, lifestyle, and expectations. Many of the animals who come into our care have faced hardship, uncertainty, or even the risk of euthanasia. Our mission is to give them a second chance—and to place them in loving, responsible, lifelong homes where they can finally feel safe and secure. If you see an animal you’re interested in, please submit an application through our website at www.rescuecrew.org/adoption-basics as soon as possible. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it will help ensure your place in line for that animal—or another pet who might be a perfect match. Thank you for choosing adoption and for helping us continue our lifesaving work. Together, we’re giving hope and homes to animals who need them most.
