SMOKEY, my wrinkles tell a story's Story
Smokey is the shelter's elder statesman: he's a sweet senior who came to us in August of 2023.
He was surrendered when he became too much for his owner, no fault to Smokey, just his strength for him at the time was overwhelming. Since then he is great on a leash, does not pull unless he smells something good.
Smokey needs to be the only pet in the home - he wants you all to himself. Once he gets to know you, he loves to cuddle and will let you rub his belly. He's in heaven if you brush him and let him pick out his own toys. Smokey loves to play fetch for a little while, but this gentleman wears out quickly. He entertains himself well if you need a sit down, but it's possible he'll join you and take a nap. Smokey knows his basic commands, is housebroken, if there are children, they should be older as he can be a little grumpy with youngsters.

The adoption and medical fees will be covered in honor of another senior dog! It's time this sweet gentleman had a home for the rest of his golden years.
