Smokey's Story

Smokey is currently in a temporary foster home. She is very sweet to people. She is decompressing and adjusting to being in a home. Smokey had to be trapped, and we believe she was left outside most of the time. She has a very calm demeanor. Will need a calm patient person to help her adjust to a comfortable home life. She is heartworm positive and the rescue will pay for that. Right now a fenced yard another kind calm k9 and dog savvy people is what she needs. Please let us know if you can help.. PUPDATE 5/2 Smokey is coming around.. She should do fine with another calm dog that is NOT in her face. She coexisits with several of my dogs. She is a very quiet girl, a velcro girl. Will need dog savvy folk, who have patience and can let her blossom in her own time. She is said to be good with kids, I would not recommend any toddlers, older kids would be fine. Cats unknown. She is very smart, wants to please and we recommend manners classes for social interactions. Rescue can treat her heartworm, if relocated to st pete/tampa area. She may be great in sports down the road, but def a good running or hiking companion, once familiar with her environ.
