He wants attention and will follow you anywhere to get it. This boy is a lover. He loves to cuddle on the couch, loves his butt scratched, loves to have his incredibly soft ears rubbed. He would be a great companion dog for someone who works at home or recently retired.<br/><br/>In the great outdoors, Smokey is a hunter. He hunts on every walk. He loves to run free out in the field, but stays close and has great recall. Once you have gained his trust, he is well trained. He needs exercise. If Smokey doesn't get enough exercise he will start misbehaving. We are taking 2-3 long walks a day to allow him to burn off excess energy. Given his super charged energy level, he is not a good match for young kids. Like any good Britt, he loves chasing squirrels. However, he is very good around our menagerie of ducks, chickens, geese and horses.<br/><br/>His nemesis, flies. Smokey HATES flies by his ears and runs like a maniac from them.<br/><br/>Please, no sight unseen or long distance adoptions are being considered. We feel it is important for all family members (humans and canines) meet to assure we have a good match. If you think Smokey is the boy for you, complete the adoption application.<br/><br/><br/><br/>History: <br/><br/>Smokey is an owner surrender to ABR. He was surrendered because he had a disagreement with the dog of the owner's significant other. ABR got the call and brought him into rescue. Smokey is up to date on vaccinations, has been neutered, is micro chipped, is heartworm negative, and on preventative. He is just waiting for someone to call his own. Could you be the one?
