Smoke's Story

Meet Smoke! This handsome Husky–Shepherd mix was born on 7/8/20 and is ready to find his forever home. According to his foster mom, Smoke gets along well with most other dogs. He doesn’t quite understand that cats aren’t dogs (and can’t handle rough play!), so a cat-free home is best. Smoke is great with older children and is still working on his basic manners. Since he didn’t begin training until age three, he’s catching up—but he’s eager to learn and absolutely thriving in his new life! He’s already potty trained, crate trained, and walks nicely on leash. His ideal home would include: A family committed to continuing his training Another doggy companion to play with A fully fenced yard Children over the age of 5 (if any)

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please visit Mikeyschance.com to find out about our adoption procedures. We do not have a central facility where you can meet our dogs, because they are in foster homes. Once you have been approved to adopt a dog we will gladly arrange for you to meet any dogs that are potentially a good fit for your home. We carefully review each application and place dogs based on a variety of criteria. Ultimately, we will always act in the best interest of the dog. We will conduct a background check on each adult living in the home. We will contact your vet. Mikey’s Chance also conducts home-checks to assure the best possible placement of all our rescue animals. PLEASE NOTE: It is our policy to only adopt to homes where the current pets: Are up to date on vaccinations; Have been either spayed or neutered; and Have received routine veterinary care. Applications that do not meet this policy shall be denied.
