Smithers's Story
Smithers is a fun little Chiweenie (Dachshund / Chihuahua blend) about 12 months old. He came from the Yuma Humane Society, where he was found as a stray. Now he's with us and we'll find him a great home! He's living in a foster home where he learned the dog door almost immediately (makes us think he might have had experience with one), and he appears to be housetrained. He has not started playing with toys yet, but he is enjoying playing with the other small dogs in the home. He is scheduled to be neutered on Thursday, May 12 and then he will be available for adoption as of Saturday, May 14 (assuming he's healed from surgery). He's a fun little guy who will also want a tiny spot on your bed!

Smithers is living in a foster home, so please email us at FFLdogs@azfriends.org to make arrangements to meet him, or you can come by our adoption center on Saturdays when he will be onsite, waiting to meet his forever home. Please note that families that have appointments will take priority over any walk-ins for any of our dogs in foster. We make appointments up until Thursday night every week, so any inquiries received late Thursday or Friday are all told that he is available to the first approved home that comes to meet him on Saturday. We are sorry but we cannot hold this dog without an appointment as we have found that some people inquire but do not show follow through, which means the dog waits longer for a forever home. All the information we can provide prior to talking to an adoption counselor is included above. Our regular adoption hours: Tuesday and Friday 10am-2pm; Wednesday & Thursday 3pm-7pm; Saturday 10am-4pm. We are closed Sunday and Monday.
