Sloop's Story
Playful, Sweet and affectionate, Sloop’s Foster Family says “he is a sensitive and attentive boy, he’ll make a loyal companion to his new family”

BIO:
- Shepherd/Potcake Mix, 1 year (approximately) Male (neutered)
- Medium-size (45 lb), Medium-energy
- Sloop was found as a stray as a puppy and taken in by a rescue organization in Antigua
- Sloop is house-trained, microchipped and has his core vaccinations

ABOUT SLOOP:
- Good and easy-going on a leash; when other dogs walk by he is not reactive
- He is content entertaining himself with his favourite toys
- He hasn’t shown signs of separation anxiety when left alone, no guarding behaviour or nippiness
- As a young dog, naturally he is still a little bit shy in unfamiliar surroundings, he is getting used to traffic and loud noises
- He may be timid at first—kennel life had him feeling unsure—but in the home environment of his Foster Family he is gaining confidence
- Good in a crate with the door open
- Good in a car, will jump right in and settle down
- He is still puppy-ish so he’s happy to re-organize (but not chew) your shoes and seek out toys that are stuck under your sofa

SLOOP’S IDEAL HOME:
- Sloop loves his walks and enjoys spending time outdoors. He will require regular walks and a backyard to zoom around in
- He needs a family that will give him time to settle at his own pace for his confidence to grow. With a calm, patient home, he’s sure to blossom into a devoted and loyal companion.
- Sloop will occasionally bark at things outside but he is generally on the quiet side, he may be good in a shared wall situation
- He gets along well with dogs and could do well with a canine companion, if his potential adopter has a dog or cat we will arrange for meet and greet
- Sloop would probably do best with older children that understand that slower and calmer is better

Sloop is definitely a people dog and interacting with you is his favourite thing
🐾 +𖨆 = ♡

If you have any questions about Sloop, contact his Adoption Coordinator at: dog.adoption.coordinator.2@etobicokehumanesociety.com
