Slobs's Story

Hi, my name is Slobs! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Energetic, exuberant, friendly, goofy guy with lots of personality!
-Can Live with Kids: Unknown history with kids. Slobs is a big boy who can be pretty jumpy when he's excited. Dog-savvy kids ages 8+ may be okay pending an initial meeting here at the shelter.
-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history with cats - will need proper introductions to ensure everyone gets along. Likely overwhelming to shy and/or senior kitties who prefer being left alone.
-Can Live with Dogs: Yes, but will need to be the right match! Recommending a social dog of similar size. Initial intros done here at WHS.
-Can do Apartment Living: No thanks! Slobs is a big silly boy with lots of energy. He would do best in a home with a yard.
-Potty Trained: Yes
-Bite History: No
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Yes, one private lesson
-Energy Level: Medium/high
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: No
-Additional Information:
Say hello to Slobs, the goofy and lovable slobber-machine! Slobs is a silly and energetic boy with a whole lot of personality. He is lovable and sweet, and we think he is going to bond strongly with his person/family. Slobs' favorite things include: treats, squeaky toys, and attention of any kind. He absolutely LOVES everyone he meets and we think he'd do best in a home where someone is present often and/or plans to bring him along on their daily adventures. Slobs has a heart of gold, but he does need to work on his manners. He just gets so excited to see you that he forgets how big and strong he is. Slobs would benefit greatly from consistent positive reinforcement based training, a stable routine, and plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. He's a young dog with lots of energy and would do best with someone who is just as active as he is!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
