Skylar's Story

Skylar came to us after 3 months in a crowded California shelter. Black dogs so often get overlooked. Skylar came to the shelter with a litter of puppies and they all found homes leaving momma Skylar alone. What really impressed us about Skylar was how joyful she remained despite a long stint in the shelter. Nothing dimmed her light - she is truly a happy dog!

- Approximately 3 years old and 60 pounds but needs to lose about 3 to 5 pounds

- We think she is likely a black Labrador Retriever mix but it's only our best guess. She has a soft, thicker coat similar to a Lab's coat.

- LOVES all people: women, men, children of all ages, strangers, even your mother in law ;)

- Exuberant, wiggly, smiling, active girl who will benefit from a family willing to exercise her and engage with her. She does settle in the home.

- Very playful with other dogs. Takes correction well from other dogs and will go belly up submissive if corrected.

- Was fostered with cats for a day and did well with them. She was curious but also lost interest in them and was able to go do her own thing.

- Enjoys her toys and chews

- Crate trained and will go in her crate and sleep quietly through the night

- Doing excellent with potty habits and no accidents in foster so far when kept on a frequent schedule of going out to potty.

Skylar is so deserving of a family to love and to give her love in return. She really wants to be a best friend to someone and connect with people.

Skylar is vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, dewormed heartworm tested negative and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee also includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Milwaukie, Oregon City, Portland or Tualatin.

$300 adoption fee

Fostered in SE Portland, Oregon

APPLY TO ADOPT SKYLAR ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG
