Meet Skylar! We don't understand why she's been waiting for four months without anyone saying, "She's the dog for me!"<br/><br/>This sweet 2 1/2-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix came to Serendipity from a multi-dog home. With so many dogs sharing space, Skylar didn't get much one-on-one attention or many opportunities to experience the world outside her home. She's now discovering how wonderful it feels to have people who make time just for her—and she is absolutely soaking it up.<br/><br/>Skylar is about as sweet as they come. Her favorite place is right next to her person, preferably close enough that she can lean into you and settle in for cuddling. And if you happen to offer a belly rub? Even better! But Skylar has a very effective way of letting you know when the belly-rubbing needs to continue: she'll give you her paw. Stop rubbing? Paw. Think you're finished? Paw. She has apparently decided that communication should be simple.<br/><br/>Skylar is also on the lower-energy side, making her a wonderful choice for someone who wants a loving companion without a dog who needs to be on the go every minute of the day. She enjoys exploring and spending time with her people, but she's equally happy to settle down beside you and enjoy being together. And after spending much of her life competing with a house full of dogs for attention, we think Skylar deserves someone who will happily tell her, "You're my girl."<br/><br/>Skylar gets along wonderfully with other dogs, just as you'd expect from a girl who has always lived with plenty of canine company. We don't yet know how she feels about cats or children. We do know that one paw at a time, she is learning that life can be pretty wonderful when you finally get the attention you deserve.<br/><br/>She's been waiting for someone to notice her—and we're hoping her person is out there looking for exactly what Skylar is: a sweet, gentle, affectionate girl who will happily be your shadow, your cuddle buddy, and your personal belly-rub supervisor.<br/><br/><br/>-------------------<br/>Our Adoption Fees:<br/>-------------------<br/><br/>*Dogs and puppies 12 months old or younger: $450<br/><br/>* Adult dogs over 12 months of age: $400<br/><br/>* Senior dogs over 7 years of age qualify for our "Seniors FUREVER" program! Seniors are special to us, so we offer two options:<br/><br/>(1) If your heart has a special place for the seniors, you can adopt a senior dog for the regular adoption fee of $400 and this becomes a perpetual fee.
