Skye (fka Pebbles)'s Story
Seven years.

That's how long Skye has been waiting for the family who will look at her and simply know she belongs with them.

Skye has been trying to find her forever home since 2019. In all that time, she has become one of those dogs who is deeply loved by the people who know her best. She's a star at the events she attends, adored by her foster and our volunteers, and her adoption fee has even been fully sponsored thanks to Dan Albert - State Farm Agent.

So what's taking so long?

Maybe it's her size. Maybe people see a big, strong dog and assume she must be a lot of work. But the Skye her foster knows is actually a pretty easygoing girl who is perfectly content to spend her day close to her people.

Skye is a professional lounger who loves a comfy couch, a good collection of tough chew toys, and watching television. And we mean watching television—she will intently sit and watch other dogs on the screen.

She enjoys looking out the window, can sleep for hours, and if she spots something interesting happening outside, she'll let you know with a bark before grabbing her favorite toy to greet whoever is coming through the door.

She knows her commands, has excellent house manners, can have free roam in the home, and is also crate trained if that's your preference. She doesn't beg for food, and she doesn't need constant entertainment. She's playful when she wants to be and perfectly happy to settle in when the day slows down.

Skye would prefer to be the only pet in her home. She's strong and gentle at the same time, and there is something pretty special about seeing the softer side of this big girl once she knows she's home.

And after seven years, that's really all we want for her.

A home of her own. A couch that belongs to her. People who know her quirks and love them. A family who doesn't look at how long she has been waiting, but looks at Skye.

You don't have to take our word for it. Skye is part of our Meet Me Program, which means you can meet her and learn what she's really like with no obligation to adopt. Email meet_me@mostlymuttz.org with your contact information and Skye's foster or volunteer will be in touch to answer questions and arrange an individual meet & greet at an approved location.

Skye is being fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania.

And those soft brown eyes? They might just be the ones you've been waiting to meet. ♥

Learn more about Skye and Mostly Muttz Rescue at www.mostlymuttz.org

Once you're an approved adopter, your approval applies to any dog in our rescue who is a good match for you.

#mostlymuttzrescue #gentlegiant #Skye
