Skye's Story
Meet Skye
Skye is a 4-year-old sweetheart who is not quite ready for adoption just yet, but we couldn’t wait to introduce her.
This gentle girl is currently undergoing heartworm treatment and will be available once her medical care is complete. For now, she’s focusing on healing, learning, and discovering what it means to feel safe.
Skye is incredibly affectionate once she trusts you. She loves following her person from room to room, soaking up attention, and leaning into all the butt scratches and pets she can get. She has a soft, soulful presence and is happiest just being near her people.
She enjoys her walks, is great with kids and small dogs, and is learning the world isn’t such a scary place after all. Larger dogs can make her a bit nervous, and she is still very cautious around men and unfamiliar noises. Sudden sounds or new situations may send her retreating to one of her “safe spots,” but with time, consistency, and patience, she continues to grow more confident every day.
Skye is also… surprisingly strong for her size and has a few quirky habits that make her all the more lovable. She’s been known to carry her food bowl around like a prized possession, and she has a funny, sensitive side when her tummy is off or her routine changes.
Despite everything she’s been through, Skye remains incredibly sweet, gentle, and eager to connect. She just needs a calm, understanding home that will let her move at her own pace and continue to blossom.
She just received her last heartworm treatment, and we expect she will be ready for adoption after recovering from treatment.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a tender heart and are willing to give her the time she deserves, Skye may be your girl.

https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DPR/Dog

Kennel License # 14649
