Skye's Story
Skye is a bright, energetic girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She is fully potty trained and knows how to signal when she needs to go outside. Skye kennels on command and does well in her crate, though it's not her favorite place. In new environments she may show some separation anxiety, but she typically settles in quickly once she feels safe.

On leash, Skye does best with a shorter lead where she is calm, attentive, and responsive to commands. With longer leashes she can get a bit wild due to her excitement. She knows "sit," and she is clearly smart and eager to learn. She can jump up when excited to seek attention, something she's actively working on as she learns manners.

Skye gets along wonderfully with other dogs and currently lives with two large adult huskies. She plays especially well with the male, as they share a similar energy level and play style, but she does great with both and has no issues. She's been exposed to kids of all ages, from infants to teenagers, and while she is cautious, she is never aggressive. Skye prefers an environment where her boundaries are respected, making a home with older or more mature children ideal.

Affection-wise, Skye isn't a big cuddler right away. Once trust is built, though, she happily seeks out pets and scratches, offering gentle eye contact that shows she wants connection, even if she's still learning how to ask for it.

High energy is truly Skye's middle name. She loves to run, jump, and frolic, zig-zagging around the yard and inviting other dogs to chase her. When she's not playing, she's happily chewing on her favorite tough toys, hard chews are her favorite. Her fox-like agility, fearless leaps, and playful determination make her a joy to watch.

Skye would thrive in a patient, understanding home. She does especially well with canine companions, so having another dog would be a big plus. A home with a fenced yard (not required), multiple daily walks, or even agility training would help her burn off her energy and shine.

She handles grooming well, including brushing and nail grinding, and isn't bothered by household noises like vacuums or carpet cleaners.

Cautious, energetic, smart, sweet, determined, and fiercely passionate about whatever she's doing, Skye is a special dog who will blossom beautifully with the right home, plenty of outlets for her energy, and lots of patience and understanding.
