This helps ensure we respect everyone’s time.<br/><br/>___<br/><br/>Skye is a 3-year-old, 60 lb neutered shepherd mix with movie-star looks and a heart to match. This gorgeous fluffy boy has the most striking eyes—one warm brown and one bright sky blue—making him just as unique as his name. He is currently being fostered in Austin, TX and can transport out of state arranged by the rescue once matched with an approved adopter.<br/><br/>Skye was found wandering a property alongside a small female dog. From the very beginning he showed his sweet personality, happily following his finder around in exchange for a few hot dogs and some kindness. It was clear right away that this boy loves people.<br/><br/>Like many Texas dogs found living on the streets, Skye tested heartworm positive when he was rescued. The good news is he has already completed treatment and is now healthy and ready to find his forever home.<br/><br/>Skye is a total velcro dog. He loves being close to his humans and is happiest when he can simply be near you—whether that’s laying by your feet while you work, going for a walk together, or curling up next to you for a nap. He’s affectionate and loves to give sweet kisses to the people he adores.<br/><br/>Skye has wonderful house manners. He’s potty trained, walks beautifully on leash, and is easy to bathe and brush (which is great because his fluffy coat is just begging for it!). He has experience with a crate, though he may let out a little cry sometimes because he’d much rather be close to his people. At night, he’s perfectly content to curl up and sleep through the night beside you.<br/><br/>This handsome guy enjoys playing with other dogs and has done well around both small and large dogs. He has also been around older children at the property where he was found. Cats are currently unknown.<br/><br/>Skye has a low to moderate energy level—he enjoys playtime and walks but also loves relaxing and soaking up affection. A home that can give him a mix of physical activity, mental enrichment, and plenty of companionship would be ideal. Because he bonds closely with his people, he would do best in a home where someone is around much of the time.<br/><br/>He rides well in the car, though he may be a little nervous at first in new situations.
