Sky's Story
Sky is living in a foster home! Please submit an application from our website or email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org to see if you are a match!

Scroll through her pictures to see her cute video content!

3-month-old Sky arrived from Tennessee with her brother, Timber, a few weeks ago. Timber has already found his new home and now Sky is ready to land in hers too! Sky has been learning the ropes in a wonderful foster home and hopes to find a family that understands her and wants to help her blossom into the amazing adult dog we know she will be! Here is what her foster parents have to say about her.

"Sky is a sweet, sensitive and a velcro snuggler. This precious girl is all heart! She is cautious when meeting new people but once she feels safe she lets you in and doesn't hold back on the love. She thrives on human attention, she will keep your lap warm during work calls, her gentle snore will put a smile on your face and her little flick of her paw is her way of asking for a hug.
We are working on potty training, with a good routine she will master it in no time. She is treat motivated making learning new skills easier. She has done well free roaming while we are home and keeping herself occupied with toys while the other resident dogs nap.
One might think she is part bunny the way she hops in the yard, pouncing on blowing leaves or chasing after a ball!

She would do well as a 2nd dog, looking to the older dog to help build her confidence and keep her company when humans are away. She is sensitive and needs a family that can be patient."

If you are looking to add a wonderful pup to your home, look no further than sweet, special Sky!

Sky's adoption fee is $450. This animal is spayed, and is up to date on core vaccines appropriate for their age.

They will need a Heartworm test between 6-7 months of age at the adopter's own vet.

Since she is a puppy, any adopter should anticipate needing to work on housebreaking and other training using positive reinforcement training only.
