Skittles's Story
Like her candy namesake, Skittles is a beautiful mix — a 4-year-old female mixed breed with striking blue eyes and a gorgeous tricolor coat that makes her truly one of a kind. She came to us with her three siblings after being surrendered through no fault of her own, and now she’s patiently waiting for the forever family she’s been dreaming of.

Skittles is the most mellow and reserved of the bunch — think sweet, not sour. She isn’t loud or pushy with her affection; instead, she shows her love in the gentlest ways: quietly leaning against you, offering soft kisses, or rolling over to show her belly for some well-earned pets. Once she trusts you, she’s a total velcro dog, happiest when she’s right by your side.

There’s something about Skittles’ eyes that melts hearts — they carry a look that says she’s just waiting for her person, someone to finally call her own.

She does well with other dogs and is currently pretty indifferent to them, though we suspect a little more playfulness may bloom once she’s settled into a home. She’s also cat-indifferent, great with kids thanks to her gentle nature, and comes with all the best basics already mastered: fully potty-trained and crate-trained.

Skittles would thrive in a lower-key home looking for a sweet, calm, affectionate companion — a soft, comforting presence to add a little extra sweetness to the family.

If you’re searching for a dog who’s more heartfelt than hyper, more sugar than spice, Skittles might just be the perfect treat to complete your herd

If you’re interested in adopting, please fill out our application, and someone will be in touch with you shortly!
https://animalwelfarefriends.org/adopt/application/
