Skippy's Story

SKIPPER-DOODLE IS READY FOR ADOPTION! 🎉
Skippy has come such a long way since being rescued off the streets. He has grown in confidence & playfulness!
❤️General information:
Mini Labradoodle
Male (Neutered)
20lbs
5 years old
Vocal cords removed= raspy bark

Skippy is probably one of the easiest foster dogs I've ever had. He came completely potty trained, and 100% trustworthy in the home while alone.

He would do best in a low traffic home, with older children. While he is still not affectionate, he doesn't mind people sitting next to him. He doesn't long for pets or attention, but he loves to be near his people. In time he may learn to love being pet.
He needs a soft, understanding owner who is willing to take the time required to let him acclimate to a new home on his own.
It took him about 4 weeks to be comfortable with us. Skippy is the type of dog, that you cannot force love upon. You have to let him come to you, and you have to be okay with him sitting in the corner for a while.
While Skip may not like being touched, he gets very excited when we come home! He runs and jumps around, so he does like people! He just has his own way of showing it.
He absolutely loves going for walks! Anytime we get his harness out, he excitedly paces and whines! And he's a very good walker too! He walks very nicely on a leash, with very minimal pulling. My 8-year-old son has no trouble walking him. In fact, he walks him every day with me & my big husky mix.

Skippy would do best in a home with another dog. He prefers dog company and absolutely fell in love with my dog. Even though she is 45 lb heavier, he can absolutely keep up with her! They play chase in the yard and even love to wrestle. He's a tough cookie! He often initiates play, so he would love another playful dog.

Skippy is also excellent with cats!! He acts like cats are just other dogs, does not bark, lunge, or even notice that they're even different than a dog.

Car rides? No problem anymore! He came in terrified of cars. But after 6 weeks with me, he loads up like a dream, gets buckled in and rides perfectly.

Skippy would be an excellent addition to any low traffic home who would love a sweet little dog like this. He is 20 lb of love, just waiting to be unlocked!
Everyone who meets Skippy falls in love with him. His sweet gentle nature is so appealing to so many people.

Skippy will need regular haircuts! And does have a sensitive tummy, it is best to stick to just his dog food, as too many treats will give him diarrhea.

If you meet Skippy, you will fall in love!

Skippy is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and sadly his first owner ( not the one who lost him) debarked him. He can still bark but not a normal bark.

If you are interested in meeting him, please fill out an application at fuzzballrescue.com

Meets will take place in Hermiston where he is being fostered.

Fence is required!

Submission of application does not guarantee adoption.
