Skippy's Story
Meet Skippy — a 2-year-old, 38-lb neutered sweetheart who is fully vetted and up to date on all vaccinations and tests.

Skippy can be a little anxious when meeting new people and is initially scared of men, so he needs a patient, understanding home where he can feel safe and loved. With time, he truly blossoms. He has completely warmed up to his foster mom and, while he may still occasionally bark at her husband, he’s no longer afraid — just learning to trust.

Skippy walks well on a leash but will bark at other dogs and people to announce his presence. With consistent redirection and guidance, this behavior is already improving and should continue to get better.

He does fine in a crate, though he’s a bit of an escape artist unless extra security (like a carabiner or wire) is used. He is only crated when no one is home — otherwise, he enjoys free roam and does great in the house. This smart boy is fully house-trained and has had zero accidents.

Skippy is an accomplished counter surfer and will need continued guidance, which he is already starting to grasp. He loves squeaky toys, sticks like glue to his people, and is very playful in the yard. He can get a bit mouthy during play (gentle mouthing or tugging at pant legs), so continued training will be important.

With patience and consistency, Skippy is going to be an amazing companion for the right home. He just needs someone willing to help him come out of his shell and shine.

And one more thing — like many gentlemen, Skippy is not a fan of house cleaning, so vacuuming is best done while he’s safely crated.

Don’t pass up this scruffy, sweet boy — come meet Skippy for a trial!

To meet Skippy, please fill out an adoption application:
https://www.pawsofloverescue.com/adoption-application

Adoption donation includes:
✔ï ̧ Spay/neuter
✔ï ̧ Microchip
✔ï ̧ Deworming
✔ï ̧ DHPP vaccinations
✔ï ̧ Rabies shot
✔ï ̧ Bordetella (nasal)
✔ï ̧ Any other necessary procedures prior to adoption

Dallas / Fort Worth area

Application available at https://www.pawsofloverescue.com/adoption-application.
