Skip's Story

Age/Sex: 13 yr 7 month old intact male
Details: House Broken, Crate Trained, Obedience, ok with dogs, Needs Fence
Location: West Creek, NJ
Contact: Michelle Falkinburg at falkinburgm@comcast.net
Phone: (609) 296-8278
Online Adoption Application: http://fs20.formsite.com/brittanyrescue/form10/index.html

Dog Story:
Skip here. I am a retired hunting dog and used to live at a hunting club with a lot of other brittanys. Each of us had our own run the inside was heated but I will tell you much different than the life I have been living here with ABR in my foster home. I think I might have died and gone to HEAVEN!

I have only been here a few weeks but the saying "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" is definitely NOT true for me.... I have learned something called STEPS and now I go up and down them (although not all that gracefully my foster mom says) so a home that has a few would probably be best LOL. I have also learned that the humans DO NOT think it is OK to mark in the house, point taken and I do not do that anymore.

I love to scout the yard and although I maybe a senior I love to chase those pesky squirrels and watch the birds in the birdfeeder or would be delighted to fetch the ball with you and bring it back right to your hand! I find I am enjoying all the good things in life here that I never knew existed, like brushing, loving and attention, snuggles, playtime, walks on leash, and napping on my orthopedic crate pad.

What I would love most is a family to call my very own so if you think you would like to call me your very own and share my senior years please fill out our adoption application at www.americanbrittanyrescue.org or http://fs20.formsite.com/brittanyrescue/form10/index.html and note Skip.

Foster Mom Here - Skip suffered trauma to his one eye while hunting and the eye atrophied. He has no pain in the eye but has no sight in that eye as a result of the injury which happened many years ago. He has no problem navigating the house or yard and he chases all the critters, toys, and ball with ease. He will need a physically fenced yard for his forever home. Skip recently had a dental and senior bloodwork, the bloodwork came back great! He does have a heart murmur but does not need any medication for it. He is up to date on shots and on heartworm, flea/tick preventative.
