Skip's Story

Have you been searching for a Miniature Pincher, Chihuahua mix with a splash of Pomeranian? Look at that Pom tail. Skip is 2 & 1/2 years old and weighs 21 pounds. This boy absolutely loves walks and hiking. He gets along great with his foster dogs and cat siblings. He is initially fearful of people. Once he earns your trust, he is a super sweet boy.

We rescued Skip from the OC Shelter in September of 2023. He was slated to be euthanized for being fearful. Skip has come such a long way. He sleeps in his crate and is finally housetrained.

Skip has been to board and train where it was suggested he be put on Doggy Prozac. He has done really well with the medication. It has reduced his anxiety. Yay!
Skip needs a home with a fenced yard.

Skip's foster dad is 81 and has dementia. His foster mom is 66 and is showing early signs of dementia. As much as they love him, they worry he will not get the attention he needs. This boy is young and has a long life ahead of him. Have you always wanted to rescue a dog in need? Here's your opportunity.

The serious face photo is Skip asking to go on a walk. The tongue out photo is his after walk happy face. The photo with the tail showing is shortly after he was rescued in 2023.

Skip's adoption fee is $300.

Please complete an online application at

https://www.dachshundsandfriends.org/
