Skeeter's Story
Skeeter is a four-year-old beagle looking for his forever home. He is crate-trained and working on house training. He is good with cats, other dogs and with kids. Skeeter is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to become part of your family.

Introducing sweet and handsome Skeeter!! This moderately active beagle boy likes walks, stuffie dog toys and hard chewies. He does well and likes riding in the car, meeting new people, small children and playing with other dogs. He is crate trained and spends time in his crate when left alone in the home - keeping the crate clean and dry. While he does bark, Skeeter is not all that vocal. He absolutely loves a good cuddle session and follows his humans all around his foster home.

Skeeter is very new to our rescue. This profile will be updated as soon as we know more about Skeeters personality.

If you're interested in adopting Skeeter, please first read about our adoption process. Then, complete an adoption application found at www.happypawsrescue.org under the *ADOPT* tab. Thank you for your interest in adopting!

You may not know it, but you might have a BEAGLE to thank for your medicines! Beagles are used for safety testing of human and veterinary medicines for the same reasons that they make good pets; they're small and gentle-natured. Where does Happy Paws Rescue come into the picture? On a regular basis, research facilities have beagles that they release to us. It gives us and you a chance to give back to these sweet dogs that have contributed to the advancement of science. Please email us if you're ready to be a giant hero in the eyes of a little dog!

Thinking about adopting me? Heres how:
1. Fill out an application found at www.happypawsrescue.org under the *ADOPT* tab.
2. Please allow 5-7 business days for us to review and respond to your application.
3. Approved applicants will be invited to come meet me at a scheduled meet and greet or adoption event.
4. If both you and the rescue agree that the dog you meet is a good fit for your home, you will fill out an adoption contract and exchange a small adoption fee. Your dog can go home the day of the Meet & Greet.
5. We generally adopt to families within a 90 mile radius of our home base in Piscataway, NJ but may consider farther distances in the tri-state region if volunteers are available. If you live beyond our geographical boundaries, we hope you will contact rescue organizations closer to your home.

Our Mission
To apply for a cat or dog, visit our website at www.happypawsrescue.org. We specialize in the rescue of dogs and cats from high-kill shelters where the prospect of permanent placement is unlikely. We also serve as an educational resource for the public regarding the prevention of cruelty to animals, in addition to spay and neuter awareness to reduce the population of homeless and stray dogs and cats. By working with committed volunteers and veterinarians, we provide all dogs and cats in our care with medical attention and a safe haven prior to placement in their permanent, loving homes.
