Sissy's Story

Sissy is an adorable 2 year old French Bulldog who is looking for a very special home. She was owned by what would be considered a backyard breeder and spent the majority of her time in a kennel. She has had at least 1 litter of pups, but has been spayed so that is no longer in her repertoire. She is allergic to chicken so needs to remain on a beef or salmon based food (she is currently on salmon) and you do have to watch her as she will sneak and grab anything that hits the floor or that she can get to. She is a very good body weight so we don't want her to gain anymore which will help with some of the issues Frenchies can have as they age. She loves to go on walks and rides well in the vehicle without getting car sick. She does like other dogs once she is introduced to them and knows they won't hurt her. her housebreaking is going well but is a work in progress. It appears she may have been kenneled to the point she was permitted to live over her own urine so we are having to unravel some of the baggage from her former life. It seems a good consistent schedule as well as frequent trips out are solving the issue. We have seen her utilize potty pads but are trying to get her to make the move to strictly outdoors. She can be a little shy when she first meets you, but that doesn't last long at all and she loves to be held and get attention. She definitely is going to need someone patient who isn't away from home for long periods of time and who likes to take walks but understands that Frenchies shouldn't be permitted to be out in the heat for very long at all as they have a propensity for heat related issues. If you think you mey be the soft place for Sissy to land, please email iPAWinc2022@gmail.com to get an application.
