Simone's Story
Meet Simone! This sleek black beauty is 30lbs, 4y old and was originally rescued from Texas. She's a lab-weenie and the best girl!! She's sweet and gentle. She's learning there's a lot to love in life, from foster canine siblings, treats and soft beds. She is ready for her forever humans who will give her the love and time she needs to continue to blossom into an even more amazing dog.

Her foster says:

"Simone is one of the easiest dogs I've ever fostered and perfect for
NYC apartment life. She's 100% house trained with zero accidents, only
needs two potty breaks a day, and walks beautifully on leash. She's
low energy and low maintenance, can be left alone for up to 8 hours
without a crate, and is completely non-destructive. She also handles
cars, subways, and stairs like a champ.

Simone is a shy, timid girl who can be very fearful at first—but I
want to emphasize she is never aggressive. When she's scared, she just
trembles. When she first came to me, she wouldn't leave my office and
shook like a leaf for days. Understandably, during those first few
days, she was incredibly nervous on walks. But with patience and love,
she's made incredible progress in just three weeks. She now wags her
tail and runs up to greet me when I come home, sleeps in bed with me,
and lets me scratch her anywhere and wipe her paws. She gets
incredibly excited when it's time for walks, and she is now walking
confidently on leash while sniffing away. It's been so rewarding to
watch her come out of her shell.

Simone is an absolute sweetheart who just needs a patient family to
shower her with love and help her fully blossom. She'd do best as an
only dog or with a dog her size or smaller, as big dogs make her
nervous. Whoever adopts her is getting a truly special girl!

INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?
To adopt Simone, apply on our website www.truenorthrescue.org/adopt and email adopt.truenorthrescue@gmail.com to follow up on your application.

PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL TO ASK IF HE/SHE IS AVAILABLE.
