Simon's Story

Simon is a handsome young stray, estimated to be around 2–3 years old, with energy for days and a heart full of enthusiasm! This active boy is looking for a home that understands and appreciates the classic “working dog” mindset — because Simon absolutely wants a job to do. Whether it’s agility, hiking, fetch marathons, advanced training, scent work, or just being your adventure buddy, Simon is happiest when his mind and body are engaged. He absolutely loves fetch and tug, and he gives off major Border Collie “please tell me what you want me to do next!” vibes. We suspect he may have had some training in the past… or he’s simply that eager to learn and please. Simon is incredibly friendly and social — the kind of dog who may enthusiastically spring up to greet you eyeball-to-eyeball just to say hello. He’s been wonderful with staff and volunteers and has quickly become a favorite around the shelter. So far, Simon seems neutral around other dogs and enjoys being around people. He would thrive in an active home committed to giving him the structure, exercise, and purpose he craves.<br/>If you love smart, driven dogs with big personalities and even bigger hearts, Simon may be your perfect match. Come meet him at Dessin! Open every day from 12-3, no appointment needed.

Dessin Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
Adoption: You need to submit an adoption application. The link is below. Once approved, we'll schedule an appointment. Spay and neuter: No pet gets adopted without being spayed or neutered. We're part of the solution to the pet overpopulation problem. Ten point behavioral assessment: A formal, ten point behavioral assessment is conducted on each dog to attempt to identify aggression or behavior problems, as well as to learn about the dog's personality. This helps us determine the best type of home for each dog/puppy.
