Simon's Story

Simon Male Pitty mix 1.5 yo 45lbs Dogs This beam of light is a rainbow in dog form. We can sit here and gloat away, but let's hear from his foster parents instead: Simon is very loving and sweet with everyone in our family. He loves to cuddle. He loves to sleep on his back. He’s done very well meeting new people. He's a glass half full type of guy. He loves to take walks and gets excited when you get the leash out— not in an obnoxious way, but in a, "yessss, life is so great!", way. He’s a pretty good walker and does not pull. He is a curious soul and likes to check out the woods, yards and everything that’s going on around him as he walks. He has shown no reactivity at all to any dogs or people that we pass on walks. He is a jolly fella!! Even squirrels node of a, "howdy partner" to him as he's out exploring the world. He's also a great size and soooo snugglable!!! Sweet, curious and innocent boy, looking for an equally sweet and loving life.

Mission Compassion Paw Rescue's Adoption Policy

MCP is a Chicago foster based rescue. We focus on dogs who need extra advocacy, including: Pit bull-type dogs, senior animals, animals with medical or behavioral needs, and bonded pairs. We don’t view adoption as placing animals, we view it as welcoming new humans into our Pack. Because of this, our process is intentionally thoughtful and hands-on. Many approved applications ultimately result in us recommending a different dog with stronger match potential. This is part of our responsibility as advocates and something we are known and respected for. Our adoption process typically includes at least three meetings (often more) to ensure a strong, lasting match. These meetings allow time to build a relationship, communicate openly, and support a healthy transition. We are full disclosure, we know our animals well and are honest about their needs. We're hands-on from first meet-and-greet through decompression and beyond, and we are comfortable saying no at any point if the fit isn’t right. We look for organic connections and humans who understand that successful Forever relationships take time, patience, and commitment. Going slow matters to us, for our animals and for our humans. Important Adoption Expectations: All potential adopters are expected to meet their match at least three times with all household members participating in the process. Out-of-state adoptions may be considered for exceptional matches only. Multiple visits to the Chicagoland area are required. We do not ship animals. We do not allow: Gifting animals, surprise adoptions, or any adoptions without full household involvement. Adoption Fees: Dogs: $600 | Bonded pairs: $900 | Cats: $250, $325 for a pair We hold our animals and our humans close. Quality over quantity. Always.
