Simba's Story

Say hello to Simba! This gentle lion is as handsome a yellow boy as you can find! He is 4 years old and a solid 110 pounds! Simba is house trained and crate trained. He likes to sleep in his crate at night. Simba is leash trained but because of his size, he is strong enough to sometimes pull!

Simba loves people and adjusts to new environments after a brief warm up period. He seems to be a little more hesitant with men than women, but he does adapt pretty quickly. Simba is great with other dogs and even loves cats!

Simba is a well-adjusted boy who loves people and kids. He has been living in a wonderful home with people who loved him very much! Simba is looking for a family who will love him, include him, and treat him like the king he is.

Simba can be protective of his food, especially if he is eating in his crate, but he is not protective of toys and has not shown any signs of aggression. He is very sweet and loves to run and play. When he is tired, he turns into a ginormous lapdog! Simba loves to swim, although his swimming has been limited to a kiddie pool; we bet he would love the ocean!

Simba has had a lot of changes in his life in the past few months, and he is taking it in stride. What he really wants is a forever family he can call his very own. If there are children in the home, they will need to be older due to Simba’s tendency to jump up and try to snatch food.

Simba is a wonderful, beautiful dog who will make a great family companion!

Simba will be available for adoption in RI on, or after, September 5, 2026

If you are interested in Simba and are an approved adopter, please contact you’re Adoption Coordinator to be added to Simba's list. If you are not yet approved, you can find our adoption guidelines and application at: www.savealabrescue.org
