City of Saginaw Animal Services's Adoption Policy

When attempts to reunite pets with their families fail, we place friendly, healthy animals up for adoption. Our adoption fee is: For Dogs: $40 Adoption Fee, this includes: DHPPV Booster, Lepto Booster, Bordetella Booster, Worming (Pyrantel), Flea/Tick Preventative. $20 Microchip (implanted prior to pet leaving facility). This includes one year of registration with Home Again. $5 Heartworm Testing (we also give them heartworm preventative while in the shelter). $5 Rabies Vaccination. Cost of sterilization.(Varies based on weight) For Cats: $40 Adoption Fee (includes FVRCP Booster) $20 Microchip $5 Rabies Vaccination Cost of sterilization (Males $35/Females $45) All fees will be collected at the time of adoption, an appointment will be made by a staff member and the date and time will be given to you if the animal is not sterilized at the time of adoption. The adopted pet will stay at our facility and transported to the appointment by an Animal Control Officer. On the date of the appointment the veterinarian will contact you with a pickup time, or you may request that the animal be brought back to the shelter for you to pick up at the shelter for an additional fee.
