Meet Silverwing! <br/><br/>Silverwing is an 8-month-old puppy with a sweet heart who's ready for a fresh start. She came to us from an unfortunate situation involving an unwanted litter where the owner became overwhelmed and was unable to find homes for all of the puppies. Now, it's Silverwing's turn to find the loving family she deserves.<br/><br/>Silverwing is a very nervous girl who is still learning that the world isn't so scary. She enjoys attention, allows full-body handling, and already knows **"sit"** and **"down."** Right now, walking on a leash is new and intimidating for her, so she'll need a patient adopter who is willing to help build her confidence through positive reinforcement.<br/><br/>Like many puppies her age, Silverwing will also need continued work with potty training and other basic manners. Training classes would be a wonderful way to help her gain confidence, strengthen her bond with her new family, and continue learning. While she would likely enjoy having another confident dog in the home to show her the ropes, it's not a requirement.<br/><br/>Silverwing is looking for someone who understands that trust takes time. With patience, consistency, and lots of love, this shy girl has all the potential to blossom into an incredible companion.<br/><br/>**Please remember:** Puppies are a lifetime commitment. All dogs over 6 months have been heartworm tested, and all dogs are treated monthly for fleas/ticks and are on Heartworm prevention (NexGard PLUS). All pets are spayed/neutered prior to a finalized adoption. All our dogs receive a behavior assessment before being placed for adoption to determine initial behaviors towards people and other dogs in the shelter environment. People visiting the shelter in person or viewing animals on our website will note that all of our dogs are labeled as Mixed Breeds unless they have been DNA tested or are surrendered to the shelter with paperwork. Any potential breeds listed here on PetFinder are not assumed to be accurate and are merely a starting point for people to be able to search for a dog who may visually resemble a breed they are interested in.
