Silas's Story

This boy is sweet, social and a real gem of a find coming from a rural KY shelter a few months ago. Silas plays with the dogs in his foster home but is more of a couch potato then activity partner. He has mastered "the art of lounging", studying the behavior patterns of people who are eating, biscuit eating pt 1 & 2 as well as "sit" and "stay", mostly. He is 85% housebroken, sleeps through the night but hates the crate. He has tried a sleepover in a home without other dogs and didn't fair well alone and he was very anxious. Because of this, we think he needs a companion dog in the house for his own well-being. A retired family may also be perfect due to his calm disposition and preference for companionship.

Silas is a very laid back boy. He prefers to mozey rather than run, he waits his turn to eat and tries to be a gentleman in general. All Creatures Big And Small, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
All Creatures Big and Small is a foster based rescue, all of our animals are in foster homes. Since we don't have a shelter building, meet and greets are arranged after an application has been approved typically in the foster home. Foster homes are in Jefferson, Oswego and Onondaga counties (NY). The first step in our adoption process is filling out an adoption application. Please be sure to read the application and follow instructions. You MUST contact your current/previous vet upon filling out your application to say it's ok to release veterinary information to us. Once the vet reference check has been completed you will review an email or phone call from our dog or cat coordinator for additional information and to do a phone interview. This typically takes place within 24-72 hours. If all goes well, a meet and greet is scheduled. All family members must come to the meet and greet (including dogs) to make sure it is a good match and everyone is on board to adopt a new pet. If it is decided that the pet is a good match, an adoption can be done at that time and the pet can go home with you All adopters must live within 500 miles of Lacona, NY. We will not ship pets and all family members must travel to the adoption to be sure the pets and family are good with the potential new adoption.
