Silas's Story
Meet Silas!

Silas is a 3-year-old, 50 lb Black Mouth Cur mix who has been waiting for his forever family since arriving at the shelter as a stray in early April.

Silas is a sensitive, shy guy who prefers to take his time getting to know new people. He may not be the dog demanding your attention from behind the kennel gate, but give him a little patience and the opportunity to feel comfortable, and you’ll discover a wonderful dog underneath that initial shyness.

Once Silas trusts you, his personality begins to shine. He has a calm, gentle nature, loves relaxing with his people, and will reward you with one of the biggest, happiest smiles. He’s also dog friendly and walks well on a leash.

If you’re looking for the way to Silas’s heart, snacks certainly don’t hurt. He’s a big fan of treats, with hot dogs ranking especially high on his list of favorites.

Silas would love a family who understands that some of the best relationships take a little time to build. He isn’t looking to be the center of attention. He simply wants someone who will give him the patience, security, and affection he needs to feel safe and become the loyal companion we know he can be.

After months of shelter life, Silas is still quietly waiting for someone to notice him.

Come spend some time with Silas. You may have to earn his trust, but his smile—and the friendship that comes with it—is absolutely worth the wait.
