Meet Siku!<br/><br/>Siku is a bright, energetic boy who's clearly figuring out this whole "pet dog" life, and doing a pretty great job so far. He's smart, curious, and very food motivated, which makes him both entertaining and a quick learner. He already knows his name and sit, and he's eager to engage with his people.<br/><br/>Siku came into care from a heartbreaking situation. The scarring on his nose is a reminder of the frostbite he endured before rescue. Despite everything he's been through, Siku is resilient, affectionate, and full of life, he doesn't dwell on the past and is ready to move forward.<br/><br/>He loves his walks and gets visibly excited when the leash comes out. He does well on leash, enjoys exploring, and would thrive in a home that can provide regular walks. He has a medium-to-high energy level but is also learning how to settle and rest when the house is busy.<br/><br/>He's living with another dog and, after a short adjustment period, now happily plays and interacts with him. He can be a bit enthusiastic about play at first but is generally respectful. Siku may or may not need another dog in his forever home, but if there is one, slow introductions and supervision will be important.<br/><br/>Siku is still a work in progress in a few areas, he's learning house training, building positive associations with the crate. He's currently fed separately and does well with shared treats and chews when supervised. He's also a bit of a counter surfer (food lovers, you've been warned).<br/><br/>Once he trusts you, Siku is incredibly affectionate and sweet, offering gentle kisses and nose nibbles. He enjoys being near his people and bonds quickly. He hasn't been left alone yet, so his future home should be prepared to continue building independence gradually.<br/><br/>Siku would do best with an adopter who enjoys training, understands adolescent dog behaviour, and is ready to provide structure, consistency, and patience.
