Sigrid's Story

Sigrid is a tiny 10.8-pound Chihuahua mix who has finished raising her puppies and is finally ready for a family of her own. Now that motherhood is behind her, she's enjoying the chance to simply be someone's beloved companion.

This sweet little girl loves being close to her people. Whether she's curled up in your lap, following you around the house, or relaxing nearby, Sigrid is happiest when she feels included. She has a moderate activity level and enjoys exploring before settling in for a cozy cuddle session.

Sigrid is potty trained and is making great progress with crate training. She may vocalize when first left in her kennel, but with patience and consistency, she's continuing to build confidence. She's also learning basic manners and responds well to positive reinforcement training.

Sigrid was recently adopted but returned after she had difficulty adjusting to life with the resident senior dog. While she previously lived successfully with larger dogs in her foster home, she struggled in her adoptive home with an older, smaller dog. Because every dog relationship is unique, we believe Sigrid would do best either as an only dog or with a confident, well-socialized dog that is comfortable setting appropriate boundaries. As with any new dog, slow introductions and thoughtful management will help set everyone up for success.

Sigrid has also done well living with a cat in her foster home, but the cat was dog friendly and able to make proper corrections if needed.

Her ideal home will provide:
Plenty of love, companionship, and lap time.
Patience as she settles into a new routine.
Continued positive reinforcement training.
A calm, predictable environment where she can thrive.

Sigrid has so much love to give and is ready for the fresh start she deserves. If you're looking for a loyal little companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Sigrid may be the perfect match. We require professional obedience training from a certified trainer for ALL adoptions.
If you are interested in meet or adoption me, please fill out an adoption application athttps://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=sa3058&method=online_form_html&formid=41
