Sigrid's Story

Sigrid is a tiny 10.8-pound Chihuahua mix with a gentle spirit and a newfound appreciation for the simple things in life. After raising her puppies, this sweet mama is finally getting the chance to focus on herself, and she's loving every minute of it.

Now that her puppies are grown, Sigrid's favorite activity is finding a warm lap to curl up in. She is happiest when she's close to her people, soaking up affection and enjoying the peace and comfort she deserves.

Sigrid can be timid when faced with new situations and is naturally submissive, but beneath that cautious exterior is a loving little dog who wants nothing more than to feel safe and loved. As she settles into her foster home, her confidence continues to grow, and it's been wonderful to watch her personality emerge.

She gets along well with both dogs and cats and is potty trained. Sigrid is currently working on crate training and may cry when left alone in her kennel, so she will benefit from a patient family willing to continue helping her build confidence and independence. She is also working on basic skills such as "sit" and becoming more comfortable with handling and touch.

With a moderate activity level, Sigrid enjoys exploring, spending time with her people, and then returning to her favorite place--a cozy lap. She can be a bit of a picky eater, but otherwise has no known medical concerns.

Sigrid would thrive in a home that will:
* Provide patience and reassurance as she continues building confidence
* Continue positive reinforcement training
* Offer plenty of affection and companionship
* Appreciate a sweet, devoted lap dogWe require professional obedience training from a certified trainer for ALL adoptions.
If you are interested in meet or adoption me, please fill out an adoption application athttps://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=sa3058&method=online_form_html&formid=41
