Sigourney's Story
TO MEET SIGOURNEY:
Please fill out an application here:
https://www.rescued-treasures.com/dog-application/

This dog is being fostered in Rochester, NY, by Rescued Treasures Pet Adoptions. We are not a shelter, but a foster home-based rescue, and these animals are all housed individually with foster families.

Please review our application carefully and ensure everyone in the family is ready for the lifelong responsibility and commitment of a canine companion.

Sigourney does wonderfully with other dogs and cats. She is learning crate training and is housebroken, as long as her person pays attention to her cues and stays outside with her until she finishes pottying. She loves her stuffies and has a habit of “borrowing” non-stuffy items she decides are toys—so keeping things picked up is helpful!

Although Sigourney is listed as 6 years old, as her foster and longtime Great Dane owner, I truly believe she acts more like a 2–4-year-old. She has a youthful energy and curiosity that shine through in everything she does.

She can be a little shy around fast movements at first and cautious of hands until trust is built, but once she feels safe, her sweet personality really comes through. Sigourney is still learning her manners and is a bit of a counter surfer—nothing is safe yet, but she’s making progress.

Due to her size and her tendency to forget just how big she is, Sigourney would do best in a home with older children. With patience, consistency, and love, she will make a wonderful companion for the right family.

PLEASE NOTE: Sigourney will only be adopted out in the Rochester, NY area.
