Sierra's Story

Sierra is a beautiful 4-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer with the sweetest soul and a heart ready for a fresh start. She is house trained, crate trained, utd on vaccines and good in a 4ft fence. She weighs 70 lbs but we have her on a diet and with all her playing she has been shedding pounds. She’s is showing more and more of her playful, loving personality each day.

Sierra is a true GSP at heart — she loves chasing squirrels, playing fetch, and running around with other dogs. She’s also incredibly smart: she’s already learned how to use a dog door and picked up “sit” in no time! She’ll benefit from continued basic training, but she’s eager to please and learns quickly.

Sierra would do best in a home without young children (teenagers and up are great) and with someone who can match her energy, patience, and affection. She’s what we call a Velcro dog — happiest when she’s right by your side. But she likes to steal items and will consume them if you aren't watching.

Sierra is now looking for her forever family — one that will give her the love, guidance, and companionship she’s been waiting for. We think she is best matched with another canine companion in the home.

Sierra is being fostered in Easton, MD – if interested in learning more, please fill out an adoption application at http://mdgsprescue.org/adoption-application
