With proper introductions and continued positive experiences, he should be able to get along with both dogs and children. Like many young pups, Shug will benefit from consistent training to help him become the best version of himself—he’s eager to learn and just needs someone willing to guide him.<br/><br/>He came to us from Detroit with no known history, but he’s ready to leave the past behind and start a new chapter filled with love, structure, and fun.<br/><br/>If you’re looking for a loyal, active best friend who will keep you smiling and moving, Shug might just be your perfect match.<br/><br/>At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at no additional cost to the owner. This is one reason we have fees on the dogs to help cover the extra medical some of the other residents need. They all share the burden and the rewards. <br/>No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals!<br/>We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We typically require a meet-and-greet between any resident dogs and the dog you’re interested in adopting, to ensure everyone gets along safely and comfortably.<br/>Want to Know if I’m Still Available?<br/>Call the shelter at (989)-835-1877 to confirm my availability.
