Shrek's Story

**Meet Sherk! **

If you're looking for a gentle giant with a heart of gold, Sherk may just be your perfect match.

Since settling into his foster home, Sherk has shown everyone what an incredible dog he is. He's house trained, knows **"sit"** and **"no,"** and has wonderful manners around the house. He's been fantastic with children-including young kids-and has been playful and friendly with the other dogs in his foster home. His foster describes him as a true **gentle giant**.

Sherk hasn't shown any signs of food aggression and rarely jumps on people. He's happiest spending time with his family, whether that's lounging around the house or following his nose on a walk. He does pull on the leash a bit because he loves to stop and sniff everything, so he'd enjoy someone willing to help him polish his leash skills.

One of Sherk's cutest quirks? He's definitely **not a morning dog!** His foster caught him snuggled up in bed, making it very clear he wasn't ready to start the day.

Like many dogs, Sherk prefers not to be left alone for long and may scratch at the door when his people leave, but he's simply looking for reassurance from the people he loves.

Sherk is a sweet, affectionate boy who has so much love to give. If you're looking for a loyal companion who's gentle, kind, and happiest by your side, Sherk is ready to steal your heart.
