Shrek's Story

Young, dog friendly, and getting better every day

Shrek is a young dog with a lot of sweetness under the surface. He may not show it all right away, but once he has a minute to settle, his softer side comes through quickly. He's done well with other dogs, enjoys playgroups, and has warmed up nicely with people over time.

Like a lot of young shelter dogs, Shrek has had moments where excitement and stress got the better of him, especially during kennel exits and big transitions. The good news is that he has already shown improvement, and once he comes down from that initial rush, he does much better. He's been described as very sweet, quick to warm up, and recently improved enough to come off behavior monitoring.

Shrek will likely do best with an adopter who can give him structure, patience, and calm handling while he settles in and keeps building confidence. He may need a little extra time with new people and new places, but there's a good dog here. If you want a young dog with a playful side and a lot of potential, come meet Shrek. We are open to the public Tuesday - Sunday (1PM - 5PM)! No Appointments required!
