Shred's Story

Hello everyone, my name is Big Time Shred, but my friends call me Shred. I am a black, five-year-old female Greyhound from New Zealand. My foster mom says I have the softest and thickest fur she has every felt on a greyhound.

I am a very playful gal! I love all the toys in my foster home and think that all the toys belong to me!

I am learning my basic commands (sit, stay, down), but sometimes I get so excited I forget my manors. I love to be in my kennel and do well sleeping through the night.

My foster home does not have any human children, so I am not sure how I would react to tiny humans. I get along well with my K9 foster brothers but would not mind being the only dog in the house (more pets and attention for me!). I am not small animal safe but love to cuddle with my Bull Terrier and Greyhound foster bothers.

I would love to find a dog bed where I can roach all day long. Is that dog bed in your home?

Shred is currently being treated for a UTI and will be available when that is all cleared up. Get your application in to get in line for this beautiful gal!

This dog is being fostered in the Iowa City Area. We do not ship dogs. Adopters must be committed to meeting the dog in the area it is being fostered.

If you are interested in adopting or meeting this dog or any other of HGA's dogs, please fill out an online application found here: https://www.heartlandgreyhoundadoption.org/adoption-application/
We do not do meetings for dogs without an approved application.

If you have any questions please email HGA at adopt@heartlandgreyhoundadoption.org or call 515-967-6564 (please leave a message) and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

The adoption fee for HGA is $300.00. This fee pays for medical costs including spay/neuter surgery, shots, parasite treatments, teeth cleaning, microchip and microchip registration fee. Each dog also comes with a special sighthound collar and leash set and muzzle. There is a $30 non-refundable application fee.
